Community members are invited to celebrate the rich culture and traditions of Hispanic heritage at the free Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Throughout the nationally recognized month, Titletown will continue to highlight Hispanic culture with music, stories and flavors woven into several programs.
From Sept. 11 to Oct. 25, Titletown will welcome Los Trompos, a traveling art installation inspired by the spinning top. The installation features a series of colorful three-dimensional structures hand-woven with fabric in a traditional Mexican style, stretching over several modules to create unique seating spaces.
Functioning as both artwork and rotating platform, each sculpture acts as a gathering place for relaxation, social interaction and entertainment. By working together, visitors can create momentum and spin the tops on their bases, bringing the installation to life. Los Trompos was created by Esrawe + Cadena, produced by DTE Energy Beacon Part Foundation and the Downtown Detroit Partnership and is powered by Creos.
Titletown Gameday Live presented by American Family Insurance will take place each home gameday, with live music and activities throughout the park. A variety of food and beverages will be available to purchase. Festivities will begin four hours prior to kickoff.
